Wide selection of colourways available in current range.
Featuring a list of innovative features including the revolutionary patent pending Omni-Directional Suspension (ODS) system, the 2017 6D ATR-1 helmet range returns with additional styles for the new year.
The official helmet of the 2017 Motul MX Nationals and designed with racers in mind, every feature of the ATR-1 has been developed to provide riders the performance, protection, and comfort needed to perform at their highest level.
In order to manage kinetic energy, including linear, angular, and lower-threshold acceleration energy, the ODS system starts with an internal EPS liner not unlike traditional helmets; but that is where the similarities end.
With the ODS system, the EPS liner is divided, creating a compound-liner assembly, these two liners are separated by a very specific programmed array of elastomeric isolation dampers creating an air-gap. It is this array of isolation dampers surrounding the entire liner, combined with the air-gap, that affords the free-motion suspension capability of ODS.
The ODS system is designed to protect your head over a broader range of energy transfers, especially angular acceleration in low and high velocity impacts. The unique design has shown in testing to significantly reduce the energy transferred to the head.
The goal of the 6D helmet design is to reduce this angular acceleration transfer thereby reducing the potential of brain injury. In some test cases, the 6D ATR-1 off-road helmet reduces resultant angular acceleration over traditional helmet design by over 80 percent, resulting in a truly revolutionary helmet.
In addition to the revolutionary ODS design and construction, the 2017 6D ATR-1 helmet uses a specifically manufactured and engineered plastic visor screw rather then aluminium or titanium, to allow the screws the shear in the event of a high-stress impact or snag, improving rider safety.
The 2017 6D ODS equipped ATR-1 helmet delivers the best of all worlds; a helmet with great low-threshold energy compliance, mitigation of angular acceleration, and required high-energy performance all in one certified helmet design
Expanding to 12 colour options for 2017, the new 6D ATR-1 helmet range is set to arrive in Australian stores this April at a recommended retail price of $849.00. Click here for more details on the 2017 6D ATR-1 helmet range.
