Senior off-road riders Rutledge and Allan backed by Kawasaki

Kawasaki Motors Australia press release:

Australian Women’s Motocross & Supercross champion, Meghan Rutledge will fly high aboard her Kawasaki KX250F and KX450F motorcycles while Endurance extraordinaire, Lachlan Allan will rise to the challenge with his KX250F in 2017.

Meghan Rutledge will enter her 6th consecutive year of being supported by Kawasaki Motors Australia. Her list of accolades makes for one of the most impressive racing resumes in the country with a 2nd place FIM Women’s World Motocross Championship title to her name plus multiple Australian Women’s Motocross and Supercross Championship titles.

This year, Meghan has set her sights on the Australian Women’s Motocross Championship, the Finke and Hattah dessert race events, the NSW State Motocross title and more, while continuing to coach rising Australian off-road superstars.

“I’m really excited to be supported by Kawasaki again. Obviously it’s been a long relationship and to continue that and have the support means a lot,” said Meghan who is also being backed by Southern Highlands Motorcycle Centre this year.

“Im looking forward to the desert racing and I want to win the Australian Women’s Motocross Championship at the end of the year.”

“Last year I competed in the Finke Desert Race because everyone I ride with was doing it so I thought it was a good opportunity to give it a go. I didn’t really have any expectations but once I did it, I absolutely loved it. I performed better than a lot of people thought and it’s driven me to train harder and to be more prepared so I can hopefully get a better result,” commented Meghan as she reflected on the time she defied the desert sands in last year’s Finke Desert Race to take home 6thin her class and 29thoverall out of over 409 registered competitors.

“I love my Kawasakis. The power delivery on my KX450F is amazing and the KX250F has changed again this year. I didn’t think they could make it any better, but somehow they have!” Said Meghan who won all 4 Women’s races at round one of the East Coast Motocross Series in early February and took out the Women’s class at the Coffs Harbour Stadium Motocross event this year.

Lachlan Allan is the newest member to Kawasaki’s senior off-road supported rider arsenal. The 17 year old Motorcycle Technician from Gympie, QLD will take on the Australian Off-Road Championship this year and his game plan is to finish in the top three consistently, with the ultimate goal being an overall Senior Pro Under 19’s win.

Prepared by Gympie Motorcycles, Lachlan will be campaigning his 2017 Kawasaki KX250F this year. “My KX250F is awesome, it’s so good to ride and it handles amazingly. The power delivery is so smooth,” Lachlan said.

“I have been cycling, going to the gym and keeping up my cardio fitness when I am away from training on the bike and I’m trying to eat well, so I’m feeling good for this year’s series,” commented Lachlan who is on the path to becoming one of Australia’s most capable off-road racers.

Lachlan will launch his Australian Off-Roach Championship assault at the first two rounds being held on the 8th to 9th of April in Dungog, NSW.
