Marvin Musquin (Red Bull KTM) and Shane McElrath (TLD Red Bull KTM) have captured victories in their respective categories at the 2016 Red Bull Straight Rhythm in the United States of America.

Each round was decided over three runs down the half-mile straight, which saw Musquin edge out teammate Ryan Dungey (Red Bull KTM) in the first two races to be declared the overall 450 class victor.

The battle for third came down to Josh Hansen (Kawasaki) and Trey Canard (Red Bull KTM), where the duo scored a race win each, leaving it until the third run to decide who would take the final spot on the podium. Hansen pieced together back-to-back wins, awarding him third over the recently signed KTM rider.

The 250 category saw a clean sweep of TLD Red Bull KTM’s on the podium, with Shane McElrath mastering the track to beat home teammate Mitchell Oldenburg (TLD Red Bull KTM) in the opening two runs, crediting him the win.

Jordan Smith (Red Bull KTM) went head-to-head with Josh Hill (Alta), who raced the event aboard an electric bike, marking the first time that a machine of its kind has taken part in a national level event.

Smith’s petrol-powered motorcycle assisted him to gaining two race wins over Hill, awarding him third overall. Hill’s efforts aboard the electric bike were impressive, as he only a fraction behind the factory KTM SX-F 250.
