Youthstream, promoter of the prestigious FIM Motocross World Championship and FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN), has revealed Glen Helen Raceway in the United States of America will no longer host the 2017 Monster Energy MXoN event.

There has been speculation regarding the event’s status over the past 12 months, although despite the rumours it was officially confirmed to proceed following an announcement in August this year.

President of Youthstream Giuseppe Luongo and president of Glen Helen Raceway Bud Felkamp scheduled a meeting following last weekend’s MXoN in Italy, where the pair came to agreement to no longer work in partnership and opted to reschedule the event to take place in an alternative location.

The reasoning behind the decision stems from a lack of fan attendance at the recent USGP’s that have been hosted by Glen Helen in 2015 and 2016, and with a prestigious event such as the MXoN, Youthstream were not willing take on the risk of insufficient crowd numbers.

The announcement also stated that both parties would be in favour of working together in the future if their circumstances aligned, however a new venue is yet to be determined.
