Sherco’s Wil Ruprecht continues to push into the top echelon of Australian Off-Road racing with a solid third place at the JRT Yeppoon Enduro-X in Queensland last Saturday. The Motul Pirelli Sherco Factory Team rider raced a Sherco 300SEF-R for Jeff’s Bikes & Bits at the one-off event and was right in the mix for the outright win from the very beginning.

With a break between rounds of the Australian Off-Road Championship, Ruprecht seized the opportunity to race Enduro-X at the invitation of Jeff’s Bikes & Bits.

Ruprecht placed 2nd in the shoot-out before the series of three separate final heats. Ruprecht placed 3rd and 2nd in the first two final races and at the beginning of the 3rd and final race, the overall win was well within reach.

Racing a 300SEF-R for the first time in place of his usual 450SEF-R, Ruprecht put in a stellar ride amongst some very tough company to finish 4th in the final race which was enough to secure 3rd place overall for the event.

“I had a great time in Yeppoon,” Ruprecht said after the race. “It was a lot of fun racing Enduro-X. It was really intense racing in much smaller confines than our usual off-road races but the 300SEF-R was amazing. It turns so sharp and has smooth, strong power making it really easy to clear obstacles. The 300 I raced is actually a demo bike so it was in stock condition. It just goes to show how good that bike really is. I’m really pleased I could put Sherco on the podium and thank Jeff’s Bikes & Bits for getting me to the race.”

Ruprecht will now shift his attention back to the Australian Off-Road Championship where we holds an 18-point lead in the Under-19 Class. With just two rounds of racing remaining, the NSW-based racer is determined to extend his points lead.

The final weekend of AORC racing will be held at Penshurst, Victoria on September 10/11, 2016.
