American Kyle Peters will join the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team for the final two rounds of the 2016 MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, beginning on 21 August at Toowoomba in Queensland.

After finishing eighth in the Western Regional 250SX category of Monster Energy AMA Supercross earlier this season, Peters has contested a mixture of 450 Class and 250 Class rounds in the American Pro Motocross Championship.

Peters is no stranger to Australian competition, claiming third in the SX2 ranks of the 2014 Australian Supercross Championship and contesting various national title events during his junior/amateur career.

“We are pleased to welcome Kyle to National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team for Toowoomba and Coolum,” commented team manager Troy Carroll. “Kyle has displayed his ability on many occasions in America and also here in Australia, so we look forward to working with him and finishing the season strongly.”

National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team will complete the final MX Nationals rounds focusing on the MX1 class, as Peters joins team regular Kade Mosig aboard the team’s KX450F entries. Mosig currently sits fourth in the standings.

The signing of Peters indicates that Matt Moss won’t return this season as suspected, however the statement from Kawasaki didn’t mention Moss. Twin brother Jake Moss resigned from his MX2 role in the team earlier this week.
