MotoOnline.com.au highlights three standout performances from the weekend’s eighth round of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals at Shepparton in Victoria. Radar isn’t strictly about the winners, it’s about the unsung racers that we spot performing above expectations on any given race weekend.

Jesse Dobson (KTM Motocross Racing Team) – MX1, 5th overall:
In what was his first race for around eight weeks, factory KTM rider Jesse Dobson circulated his way to a top five. Making Super Pole was solid, sixth in moto one was decent and fifth in moto two was even better, but most importantly, he’s gaining race milage in the premier class. If he can keep doing that then there’s every chance he can climb the order further by Coolum.

Joel Green (Yamaha) – MX1, 8th overall:
After recently wrapping up the Victorian state MX1 championship, Joel Green has been on a roll of late and continued his form with eighth overall at Shepparton. Green was ninth in the opening encounter and then improved to seventh in the second, coming home second of the true privateers behind Daniel Banks. These guys are really shining in the season’s latter stages.

James Alen (KTM) – MX1, 9th overall:
Young Victorian privateer James Alen continues to impress this season against the best of the best in Australian motocross. Sure, the field has thinned out a bit since he was inside the top 10 at Broadford, however this ninth-place overall via 8-11 finishes in truly challenging conditions across two 30-minute motos.
