Mackenzie Tricker will miss this year’s Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch due to injury.

Following a practice crash in June, the Australian WMX ace was diagnosed with a broken T7 vertebrae, an injury doctors are yet to clear her for at this stage.

Capturing three titles in the WMX category during 2013, 2014 and 2015, Tricker admits the decision to sit out this year’s event is a tough, yet smart decision.

“This is definitely a heart breaker for me after four solid years at Loretta’s,” Tricker announced via social media. “If I could go off how I feel, I would race, but unfortunately a back injury isn’t something you can take a chance with.”

The US-based rider will undergo further scans in the coming weeks in hopes of a 28 August return at the Ironman National in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
