Team Honda HRC rider Trey Canard has been ruled out of this weekend’s Washougal round of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship due to a concussion sustained during the week.

The favourable American was practicing at the Reynard Training Complex in Oklahoma, on Tuesday when a mistake caused him to crash, resulting with the previously mentioned injury.

Following an evaluation, the team and himself decided it was in his best interest to sit out round nine in order to get back to 100 percent health. He’s expected to return at Unadilla’s following round on 13 August.

“I’m extremely disappointed that I won’t be able to race again this weekend,” Canard commented. “I’m grateful there weren’t more severe injuries, but still bummed I won’t be out there.”

Canard has been on the sidelines for much of this year following a series of injuries and only made a return to racing last weekend at Millville after several weeks off from a bulging disc, where he raced to a pair of sixth-place finishes and claimed sixth overall.
