National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Matt Moss will enter this weekend’s sixth round of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals in Nowra with even more reason to push for the premier class victory.

Growing up in Sussex Inlet, just half an hour south of Nowra, this weekend’s ‘military round’ serves as a home race and must-win event for the former multi-time champion.

“I am very excited about heading to Nowra this weekend,” said Moss. “It’s obviously going to be a big event for me and it has to be, I need to get back in the championship and in my mind I have to win.”

Not only will Moss be surrounded by friends and family at his home round, but as part of Team Navy, a new supported of the factory Kawasaki squad for 2016, he will have the honour to perform in front of Australia’s military personnel in attendance on Sunday.

“It’s going to be a great honour to line up in front of Australia’s Military Personnel who will be at round six too. The military protect our country and allow us to live and do the things that we do safely, so to race in front of them this weekend and to be a part of Team Navy with Kawasaki is very special.”

Moss is returning from the mid-season break ready to make a run for the 2016 championship as he plans to take out the GoPro Superpole and both moto wins for a clean sweep on Sunday.

“For me, I’m going to Nowra with my head on, and to win,” he added. “I’ll be looking to take out GoPro Superpole, win both races, and finish on top. I believe I can still win this championship and I’ll be giving it everything I’ve got when I line up to race this weekend.”

Moss currently sits in fourth in the overall MX1 championship standings with five rounds remaining on the 2016 calendar.
