Crawford takes MX2 round win at Wanneroo with Scorpion MX Soft 410

Link International press release:

Wanneroo, Western Australia, 30 May 2016 – Pirelli riders featured on the podium in both MX1 and MX2 classes at the round 5 of the Motul MX Nationals, held at the Western Australian track well known for its sandy conditions. The track proved challenging for riders in all classes with deep ruts developing in the sandy conditions over the days racing.

These difficult conditions proved the perfect hunting ground for the Scorpion MX 32 front and Scorpion MX Soft 410 rear tyre. This round also saw a change of format to 3 x 20 minute moto’s , making consistent results essential for overall round points prior to the mid-season break.

In the MX2 class Privateer Rider Nathan Crawford took his Husqvarna to the round win and also claimed the red plate for championship leader at this round. Nathan chose to run with 80/100-21 Scorpion MX 32 front and 110/90-19 MX Soft 410 on the rear for 4,2,1 results and the overall win.

Fellow privateer rider Jayden Rykers also finished on the podium in 3rd overall with matching Pirelli tyre selection, also qualifying fastest in the MX2 class. CRF Honda rider Kyle Webster achieved the Moto 1 race win, a further example of this tyre combination proving its worth at this challenging track.

Pirelli riders again featured heavily in the MX1 class, with the overall results a display of riders tenacity and skill to continue to race to the finish across the three moto’s. National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Matt Moss finished in 2nd place overall for the round using Scorpion MX32 front and MX Soft 410 110/90-19 rear. Wilsons Cool Air Motul Suzuki rider Todd Waters also completed a solid round despite injury, claiming P3 on the overall podium for MX1 on his Suzuki 4,2,56 results across the MX1 moto’s.

Strong performances were also achieved by Kade Mosig (National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki, 4th overall) as well as Dylan Long (Crankt Team Honda Racing) with 6th overall as the team builds through the Motul MX Nationals season.

Don Nicholas – Product Manager Pirelli Moto – “Congratulations to Nathan Crawford on his round win in the MX2 class. Nathan and his team have been a loyal part of #teamPirelli for many years now, so to see a young rider like Nathan take the round win shows everyone out there what a smaller, focused privateer team can achieve on Pirelli Scorpion MX tyres straight off the shelf of your local motorcycle store.”

The Motul MX Nationals now has its mid-season break, resuming at Nowra on July 3.
