Australia’s Luke Clout has made his return to riding following a broken femur sustained at Oakland’s fourth round of the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Western Regional 250SX Championship.

Just three months after the injury occured, the MAD Racing/Dirt Candy Suzuki rider is preparing to contest the opening round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship on 21 May at Hangtown.

“First day back on the bike felt really good,” said Clout. “It feels so good to be back riding, I’m really starting to feel like myself again.”

The former Australian MX2 champion originally signed with the team as a fill-in for the injured Daniel Baker in January before inking a two-year deal right before his Oakland crash.

Clout’s Hangtown return from injury will also serve as his debut on the professional American motocross circuit.
