Wilson and Long set to converge on iconic Broadford venue

Team Honda Racing press release:

The Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team are preparing to head to the historic State Motorcycle Complex at Broadford for round three of the Motul MX Nationals this weekend, with both team members Dylan Long and Jay Wilson looking to improve on their previous results.

The Honda backed team who have consistently put top ten finishes on the board throughout two rounds of the championship so far, have been working hard during the last two weeks, and are eager to create history at Broadford for the final time with the MX Nationals this coming Sunday.

Wilson, who achieved two impressive starts at Appin just a couple of weeks ago, shared that he’s been working closely with the team to edge closer to achieving his goals, and is looking forward to heading back to Broadford for round three.

“Ahead of this weekend we’ve really been working on the whole package, and finding those areas where we can lift our game and then see improvements results wise,” he said.

“Being my rookie year in the MX1 class, I’m still learning and adapting to the new CRF450, but even in the last two weeks, the team and I have made some significant improvements and changes so we’re feeling positive.

“I always have high expectations of myself, and I know where I want to be in the future, so this weekend we’ll be trying to make some more progress and put some better results on paper.”

For Long, who currently sits in an impressive eighth position in the overall MX1 championship standings, shared that he too will be looking to step up his game at Round 3, and is looking forward to competing in his home state, Victoria this weekend.

“It’s been a solid two weeks since Appin, and the team and I have made some changes and we’re definitely moving in the right direction,” he said.

“I was pretty happy with my ride in the final moto at Appin, so we are going to try and carry that same momentum, build off those results, and move forward again this weekend.

“I’m enjoying riding the bike, and it’s always nice to have a round in your home state. Being a Victorian based team it will be good to have some extra support at Broadford this weekend, and hopefully we get a good crowd out there backing us.”

The Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team will now prepare to head to the State Motorcycle Complex in Broadford for round three of the Motul MX Nationals, this Sunday May 1.
