Verdict:
With many of the factory regulars sidelined, the final round at Knights Stadium still delivered for the fans on hand. The in-form Lawson Bopping sprinted away to the main event win – his first of the season – ahead of privateer Daniel McCoy and Taylor Potter, who was a real standout on debut in the SX1 ranks with Penrite Honda. The major talking point came when CDR Yamaha teammates Dan Reardon and Kade Mosig suffered injuries in the heat, which could have ruled both title contenders out altogether. But under the care of RACESAFE both managed to line up, with a gutsy seventh place finish for Reardon enough to claim the crown in his comeback campaign. Mosig also rode bravely to fifth, while notable mentions must go to Cheyne Boyd (fourth) and Danny Ham (sixth). Overall, the addition of many locals and other privateers from around the country resulted in a strong finish to the year despite all the recent injuries.

Verdict: The first win of the year for Jackson Richardson was a great way to cap off what has been a positive season, also sealing second in the championship standings behind Jimmy Decotis. It was a nerve-wracking conclusion for dominant American import Decotis after he went down in the first turn, however he eventually climbed to seventh, which was enough to clinch the championship for Honda. Wade Hunter once again starred with the runner-up result on the night and another podium for Lewis Woods also meant he claimed the final rostrum on the series podium, as Joel Wightman and Jack Simpson had strong finishes to the season inside the top five at Sunshine. Disappointment was high for early leader Dylan Wills, who was forced out with a rear suspension problem. This class is stacked with talent at the moment and it bodes well for an even greater 2016 season.
