SX2 heat one:
The opening heat of the afternoon was SX2 and last night’s podium-placer Jackson Richardson took the win over Lewis Woods, who initially jumped out of the gate to the holeshot. Woods was eventually 3.5s behind in second, as Kyle Webster crossed the finish in third. Rounding out the field was Luke Wilson, Jesse Madden, Brock McLeary, Boyd Hocking and Jake Williams.

SX2 heat two:
Runaway championship leader Jimmy Decotis was the dominant victor in the second SX2 heat this afternoon at Allphones Arena, 7.3s ahead of Geran Stapleton, who in turn edged out Jack Simpson for position. The final four positions were filled by Tomas Ravenhorst, from Joel Wightman, Jake Vella and Jamie Harvey.

SX1 heat one:
SX1 points leader Dan Reardon raced to a 1.2s win over visiting American Gavin Faith, but it was the crash of Faith over the finish that had the attention of onlookers. He was immediately attended to by RACESAFE and we will have an update when we receive one. In third for the race was the in-form Daniel McCoy, while Robbie Marshall and Josh Spanos completed the five-rider field.

SX1 heat two:
A charging Reed worked his way to the front of the SX1’s second heat, starting in the middle of the gates but quickly slicing his way to the front. His pass on Cooper Webb in the mid-stages at the end of the whoops had the crowd standing, before Webb took a look back at him in the following turn. But Reed was too quick, taking his heat race win over Webb, Lawson Bopping, Kade Mosig, Cheyne Boyd, Jono Krusic and Aaron Tanti.

SX2 semi one:
In another entertaining battle, Luke Wilson led early, but crashed on the final turn in an awkward fall while under pressure from Jesse Madden, who took over position at the front and over by almost six seconds. Second was Kyle Webster and third Jake Williams, securing his place on the podium. Brock McLeary was fourth and Boyd Hocking the final finisher in fifth.

SX2 semi two:
The second SX2 semi had Jack Simpson cross the finish line first by 1.940s in an uneventful affair, leading home Jake Vella and Joel Wightman – that trio transferring straight to the main event from this point. The field was rounded out by Tomas Ravenhorst and Jamie Harvey.

SX1 semi one:
With just three riders on the start line, all three went to the main event, led by Daniel McCoy over part-time racer and Showtime FMX regular Robbie Marshall, while Josh Spanos crossed the finish third. McCoy continued his pace, comfortably lapping inside the 31s after finishing fifth in the main last night.

SX1 semi two:
Like the first semi of the SX1 class, all riders went to the main event. Organisers opted the cancel the LCQ, so while Lawson Bopping – who won by 6.5s with 30-second lap times – alongside Kade Mosig and Cheyne Boyd were the three transfers, fourth and fifth placed riders Aaron Tanti and Jono Krusic also went to the main.

SX1 Superpole:
The crowd were treated to a bonus in tonight’s Supercheap Auto Superpole, as Ricky Carmichael made a surprise guest appearance prior to his head-to-head with Reed later. But it was Reed who starred with a 29.995s lap, marginally ahead of Dan Reardon (30.134s), Lawson Bopping (30.621s), Carmichael (30.788s), Cooper Webb (30.790s) and Daniel McCoy (30.904s).

SX2 final:
A frantic SX2 final belonged to Jimmy Decotis, making it back-to-back wins at AUS-X Open by a comfortable five-second margin over Penrite Honda Wilson MX teammates Jackson Richardson and Geran Stapleton. Richardson went down early but clawed his way back to the runner-up in an aggressive pass by Stapleton in the final turn on the final lap. Making it a 1-2-3-4 for Honda was CRF Honda Racing’s Joel Wightman in fourth, while Tomas Ravenhorst completed the top five. Completing the top 10 was Jesse Madden, Jake Vella, Lewis Woods, Jack Simpson, who also went down during the main, and Jake Williams.

Star head-to-head (Reed vs. Carmichael):
With Ricky Carmichael on the inside this time, he exited the first turn in front and withstood the immense pressure of Chad Reed over two and a half laps. But Reed blitzed by through the whoops on the final lap. An attempt by RC to counter in the final turn was close, however Reed got the run and lit the candles – the duo once again receiving loud applause by the appreciative crowd on hand.

FMX Best Trick:
Ryan Brown started with a perfect switchblade flip to open the Monster Energy-backed FMX Best Trick, scored 52.5 for his efforts in an updated scoring system for today. Japan’s Taka Higashino was next, his rock solid flip giving him a 68.33 to take over at the front. Rob Adelberg spun a california roll to no-hander, scoring a 65. Then it was Tom Pages, perfectly landing a crisp alley-oop flair for an 80-point score, before Jackson Strong nailed a front-flip tonight to secure the win at 81.33 points.

SX1 final:
American Cooper Webb has won the second night of the AUS-X Open at Sydney’s Allphones Arena, holding off all the pressure in the world put upon him by Australia’s international hero Chad Reed – the pair crossing the line separated by just 0.268s after 20 gruelling laps. The race started with excitement as Reed was toward the rear of the pack, but things really heated up when then leader Dan Reardon went down on lap 13 in the first corner. Reed went down with him and Webb was caught up in it as well, allowing initial leader Lawson Bopping to sneak back through for another turn at the front. But Webb got going quickly and he moved into the lead on that same lap, with Reed remounting in third. From there Reed went by Bopping on lap 14 and quickly set after Webb. A determined attack on the final lap was close, but not close enough, and it was Webb who took the chequered flag first. Behind them was Bopping, Daniel McCoy, Reardon, Cheyne Boyd, Robbie Marshall, Aaron Tanti, Jono Krusic and Josh Spanos.
