This weekend’s AUS-X Open will be broadcast on free-to-air television, with 7mate to showcase the event during Sunday afternoon as it happens. Saturday’s opening night will be highlighted, while Sunday’s action will be broadcast live.

The program will be televised from 3:30pm to 6:00pm local time (AEDT) on Sunday, 29 November, commencing with Saturday’s highlights package. The Sunday heat races will be shown ‘as live’, before the finals are aired directly live from Allphones Arena.

Exclusive television rights mean that the event’s only livestream will be on the ‘PLUS7’ website while it’s aired simultaneously on 7mate during Sunday’s afternoon proceedings. An international television package is to be announced by AUS-X Open organisers.

“It will be on 7mate from 3:30pm on Sunday and starts with highlights from Saturday,” AUS-X Open event director Adam Bailey told MotoOnline.com.au. “It’s a two and a half hour broadcast, including the Saturday highlights, then Sunday heats are as live before the finals and FMX Best Trick are completely live.

“There won’t be live internet streaming because of the television rights, but it will be on PLUS7 during Sunday’s broadcast and live results will be available. It’s purely down to 7mate’s live broadcast rights and an we can confirm an international schedule will also be released.”

The television commentary on 7mate will boast an assortment of experience, hosted by Channel 7’s Mark Beretta alongside former world and American champion Grant Langston, plus multiple Australian champion Lee Hogan and pit reporter Gary Reid. Event commentary at Allphones Arena will be completed by Bruce Robson and Danny Ham.
