Raceline's Mcleary inherits the SXD red plate after J2

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki press release:

It was an action packed round four of the Australian Supercross Championship at Jimboomba on the weekend for Raceline Pirelli Suzuki, as riders took on close to 40 degree heat, and an all new track layout.

With confidence high prior to the round, and solid preparation and testing under both Suzuki riders belts, both Jesse Madden and Brock Mcleary headed to J2 looking to reward the team with top results.

With Mcleary fresh off taking the SXD overall in South Australia, the young rider was eager to perform for a huge Jimboomba crowd. However luck was not on Mcleary’s side on Saturday night – forced to ride through illness, the round three SXD champ concluded the evening in fourth overall.

However despite a challenging night for Mcleary, the fortunes of others saw the New South Welshman become the SXD series points leader after J2, and now carries the red plate in to the final round of the championship.

In the SX2 class, Queenslander Madden fought hard to get comfortable on the challenging J2 circuit, but despite some early challenges, Madden finished inside the top ten of the SX2 class once again, in an impressive ninth position.

Brock Mcleary – SXD – 4th Overall

“Unfortunately I had a really bad round at J2. I had to battle a bit of an illness all day – I couldn’t eat or drink and the 40 degree heat didn’t go down too well on my energy levels,” he said.

“I had to make my way to RaceSafe where they put a drip in my arm and pumped a few litres of fluid into me an hour before my main. All excuses aside though I just didn’t have the pace of the front-runners and was unable to do some of the sections the others were.

“Fourth for the night isn’t where I want to be so we will work harder for the next round. I Cant thank the Raceline Suzuki guys enough for their efforts and for keeping my spirits up throughout the day.”

Jesse Madden – SX2 – 9th Overall

“The day started off a little tricky and I couldn’t find the flow of the track the way I would of liked to – It took me a while to get it happening. Finally I started to feel comfortable for the main event and finished ninth,” he said

“I would of liked to have gotten a better start, but in saying that, my Pirelli tyres and my Suzuki worked great for the whole race and I can’t thank my team Raceline Suzuki enough for all their help and support they give me.

“I can’t wait to get back on the bike this week and just train my ass off for next weekend in Sydney.”

Chris Woods – Raceline Pirelli Suzuki Team Manager

“It wasn’t a bad weekend for us – Obviously we would have like to have been on the podium again, but Brock is the new SXD points leader and Jesse holds eighth in the championship so we can’t complain,” he said.

“Brock was quite unwell the whole day, and he actually ended up in Racesafe on a drip just to get on the line, so to salvage fourth given all of that we were pretty happy.

“Jesse rode well, it was just a few little mistakes that let him down. He absolutely has the pace to run with the top five, but it’s about putting it all together.

“It’s back to back weekends now, so our focus is on Sydney. We only have two rounds left so we’re all going to work super hard and finish the year on a high.”

In addition to the positive results for both Madden and Mcleary at Jimboomba, Raceline supported Jackson Davison in the Junior Lites class continued his impressive form, and holds down fourth in the championship standings after taking a second, ninth and fourth across three races on Saturday night.

The Raceline Pirelli Suzuki Team will now head to Sydney in New South Wales on November 28 for Round 5 of the Australian Supercross Series.
