Team Motul Suzuki excited as racing resumes at Jimboomba

Team Motul Suzuki press release:

Team Motul Suzuki’s Matt Moss and Kale Makeham are both excited about returning to racing when the second half of the 2015 Australian Motocross Championship commences this Saturday evening.

Round four of the series returns to Jimboomba, Qld, the same venue that also hosted the highly popular round two event with the promoters laying down a all new track to test Australia’s best supercross riders at this weekends big event.

For Moss who heads into round four sitting second in the SX1 championship standings, his first outing at Jimboomba was a bitter sweet night, with the two time regining champion clearly showing he was the fastest rider on track all day, topping the time sheets and results.

Unfortunately for the RM-Z450 pilot a couple of small slips in the main event left him to salvage third for the evening and he will now return to Jimboomba determined to make amends and put himself on the top step of the box as he aims at capturing his third straight Australian 450 Supercross Title.

“It has been a long three weeks between rounds and I can’t wait to get back behind the gates this weekend,” Moss enthused.

“The first trip out to Jimboomba was a positive one for the most part, we pretty well dominated the entire day, just a couple of silly mistakes cost me when it counted, we are ready to make up for that on Saturday night!

“Scott Bannan and the crew put on a fantastic event for round two at this round is sure to be even better.

“I know that Tomkaworks have built a all new track for this weekend that we will get to see later on this afternoon, it sounds like it will be another great track that will put us to the test and provide some great racing for the fans.” Moss concluded.

For Motul Suzuki team-mate Kale Makeham this weekends marks his return to racing after injuring his ankle at the season opener at Bathurst.

After missing rounds two and three, Makeham has only just returned to riding in the past week, but is eager to get back behind the gates this Saturday evening.

“I have only been on the bike a handful of times over the past week and a bit,” Makeham explained.” I was able to get back on early last week and do a little play riding just to see how the ankle felt and also managed to get through a day of Supercross riding.”

“I am not 100%, but I am feeling good and am looking forward to getting back out there and having a little fun and get some racing under my belt on Saturday.

“Obviously I missed the first trip to Jimboomba, but from the video and images that I have seen, it looked as though it was a great night for Australian Supercross and I am looking forward to being part of it all this time around.”
