Adam Monea and Dylan Long remain in high spirits despite a challenging start to the 2015 Australian Motocross Championship.

The eagerly awaited first round of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship was held at the Bathurst Showground over the weekend, where the NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team had the opportunity to boast their all new faster, lighter and slimmer Kawasaki KX450F racing machines.

The factory KX450F racing machines stole the show with their hard anodised black frames, swingarms, wheel hubs and sprockets, making for a seductive contrast with the vibrant lime green Kawasaki fairings. “We’ve had a bit of fun with the stying and presentation of the new bikes.

The anodising and all other preparation was completed in-house and the hard work from the team has definitely paid off. The bikes have come up an absolute treat,” said Team Manager, Troy Carroll.

Adam Monea and team mate, Dylan Long, excelled in the heat races despite the slippery conditions on account of showers earlier in the day.

On the back of a highly successful motocross season, Adam Monea entered the first round of the Australian Supercross Championship with unmatched determination. “I was so keen to get this first round underway especially after all of the testing with the new bikes. We went alright in the heat races but the main event itself was pretty terrible.

I had a crash and was playing catch-up after that so I think I did well to finish where I did,” said Adam who placed 10th in the main event and 10th overall for the round. “It goes without saying that the bikes look awesome. They are really out-there and it’s cool to see the team going the extra mile to change it up,” commented Adam who finished as runner-up in the 2014 Australian Supercross Championship.

A nasty pileup in the main event ruled Dylan Long out of the race after his KX450F sustained damage as a result. “Unlucky is all I can say for round 1 of the Super Cross Championship. I got caught in a pileup on a jump out of the second corner and went down, which forced me out of the main event. I can’t wait for next round already though,” commented the 20 year old Victorian.

Team Manager, Troy Carroll, said “there is a lot of potential for the riders to do well throughout this series. There is no doubt that the new KX450F is an absolute weapon. The first round has given us even more of a chance to get the bikes dialled in and we will definitely be seeing Adam and Dylan on the podium in the coming rounds.”

The next round of the Australian Supercross Championships will be held in Jimboomba, QLD on 17th October.
