DPH set the pace early at round one of supercross

DPH Motorsport press release:

DPH Peter Stevens Yamaha saw some highs and lows at round 1 of the Super X Championship at Bathurst over the weekend.

Lawson set the pace early in the MX1 class with the fastest lap during practice and a 4th in qualifying. His thirst for a win was evident in heat race one with an almost perfect race in tough conditions resulting in a first place position.

“I had a great start in my heat race and lead most of it but had a little crash near end but still got the win” said Bopping. Unfortunately he couldn’t find the same momentum in the main race but still walked away with decent championship points.

“The final didn’t really go to plan. I had a few issues and couldn’t ride the way I wanted to and ended up 8th. I’m really looking forward to

Jimboomba and will focus all my energy on the main race” said Bopping.

DPH are also pleased to welcome 250cc rider Wade Hunter to the team for the remainder of the 2015 Super X season. The QLD young gun finished 7th in this years MX Nationals series and will be a hot contender in the Super X Championship.

“We are really excited to see what Wade can do upon one of our DPH Yamahas and are looking forward to round 2” said Dale Hocking.

Round two of the Super X Championship will be at Jimboomba, QLD this coming Saturday 17th October.
