International supercross stars Gavin Faith (USA), Anthony Rodriguez(Venezuela) and Jimmy Decotis (USA) had their first look at Bathurst Showgrounds’ world-class supercross track alongsider their opposition during a special media session this morning.

The internationals got their first look at some of their Australian opponents, multiple Australian champion Dan Reardon (CDR Yamaha), defending SX1 title holder Matt Moss (Motul Pirelli Suzuki) and DPH Motorsports’ Lawson Bopping.

Faith, who won the Australian Supercross SX2 title in 2012 and 2014 will step up to the SX1 (450cc) class in what will be his fifth consecutive supercross season with Penrite Honda Racing in Australia.

“It’s awesome to be back in Australia,” said Faith. “This year I step up to the SX1 (450cc) class which is exciting. I am looking forward to racing against guys like Matt Moss, Dan Reardon and Kirk Gibbs.

“The track is quite a bit bigger than last year, there is an extra rhythm section which will definitely spice things up a bit.”

Venezuelan Anthony Rodriguez will line-up with Faith in the SX1 class. The 20 year-old will has won national motocross titles in both Venezuela and the USA and said he is looking forward to making his Australian debut tomorrow night.

“We got to ride some of the track this morning and it is coming together nicely,” Rodriguez said. “This is my first time to Australia so everything is new to me here. I am excited to get out there and race tomorrow.

24 year-old American Jimmy Decotis completes the Penrite Honda trio and is touted is one of the emerging stars of America’s premier AMA Supercross Championship.

Decotis finished fifth in the 2015 AMA Supercross East Coast Lites Championship and will contest the competitive Australian Supercross SX2 class.

With capacity fields, an incredible line-up of leading Australian and international racers, as well as freestyle motocross and monster truck mayhem, this weekend’s opening round of the Supercheap Auto 2015 Australian Supercross Championship is an event not to be missed.
