Multiple Enduro World Champion Matthew Phillips will make a special homecoming later this month when Wynyard, Tasmania, plays host to the 2015 Australian Four Day Enduro (A4DE) on 19-25 October.

Phillips, who won the Enduro Junior World Championship in 2013 and E3 World Championship in 2014, finished runner-up this year and will join the KTM Enduro Racing Team in a one-off Aussie appearance.

KTM Enduro Racing Team manager Ben Grabham has confirmed that Phillips will ride a 300 EXC, joining team regulars Toby Price (300 EXC), Daniel Sanders (300 EXC), Tye Simmonds (250 EXC-F) and American guest Russell Bobbit (350 EXC-F).

“Phillips is coming back and he’ll be pitted with our team under our truck,” Grabham told MotoOnline.com.au. “We’re building him up a 300 EXC how he wants and, surprisingly, it’s pretty much standard. He is bringing out a few little bits, but it’s been pretty simple.

“For him it’s in his backyard, so it’s cool to help him out on his home ground, and since the last time he raced the A4DE he’s obviously a big deal these days with two world championships and second this year. It will be good for us to work with him, because he has a lot of experience with the factory guys in Europe and we will help him out where we can as well.”

Phillips’ most recent A4DE start came in 2013 at Harvey in Western Australia, where he led the opening day on his way to ultimately finish third Outright and second in the E2 class on that occasion.
