GYTR Yamaha’s Wilson Todd wrapped up the 2015 MX Nationals MXD Championship in convincing fashion with the final round win at Coolum, Queensland, this afternoon.

Todd took one step closer to the MXD championship in the opening moto of the round, taking an eight-second victory over early leader and title rival Jayden Rykers (KTM) on a near perfect morning at Coolum Pines.

Behind Todd and Rykers came Mitch Evans (GYTR Yamaha) almost another 30 seconds in arrears, but comfortably ahead of Toby Stevens (Yamaha) in fourth and Jesse Madden (Raceline Pirelli Suzuki) in fifth.

Filling positions six through 10 were Bailey Coxon (Yamaha), Kaleb Barham (KTM), Jaiden Corrigan (Yamaha), Connor Tierney (Craig Anderson Racing Husqvarna) and Trent Wheatley (Honda).

In moto two of the MXDs it was Todd who rode to second to secure the 2015 title, trailing teammate Evans in what was his first-career Under 19s race victory, however Todd won the overall.

Third in the final moto of the year was Coxon, who finished ahead of Stevens, Madden, Tierney, Corrigan, Travis Silk (KTM), Luke Abela (Honda) and Wheatley rounding the top 10.

Title threat Rykers was in podium contention before he exited the race with a technical fault, but was able to hang onto runner-up in the standings.

Overall for the round it was Todd over Evens and Stevens, while in the championship Todd brought home the title from Rykers and Tierney.
