Dunlop's Mosig takes MX1 clean sweep at Echo Valley

CDR Yamaha rider delivers 1-1 result using Dunlop tyres.

Dunlop Tyres press release:

Dunlop supported CDR Yamaha rider Kade Mosig took a clean sweep with 1-1 results, at round nine of the MX Nationals at Echo Valley in Toowoomba over the weekend.

With only days remaining until the final showdown for the year at Coolum, Dunlop backed riders took to the popular racing circuit and provided fans and spectators with high quality, and action packed racing.

In the Monster Energy MX1 class, CDR Yamaha’s Mosig dominated at round nine, taking both race wins and denying fellow Dunlop athlete Kirk Gibbs (KTM Motocross Racing Team) any opportunity of sealing the deal on the 2015 title early. Once again the Dunlop Geomax tyres used by CDR’s Mosig enabled him to nail two wins for the day, performing flawlessly.

“The competition was fierce in both events, yet the Dunlop tyres were brilliant and gave me that edge to win both races” said Kade after the event. The success for Dunlop in the MX1 class also flowed on to KTM duo Gibbs and Luke Styke, who took fourth and fifth places for the round respectively.

In the MX2 Class, Dunlop supported Caleb Ward (KTM Australia) and Takeshi Katsuya (Sony Action Cam Kawasaki) took impressive results, with both riders finishing on the podium at the conclusion on the round.

In moto one, Katsuya put down his most impressive performance of 2015, charging to the race win ahead of Dunlop’s Ward who crossed the line in third. In race two, the focus was on Ward, who once again found himself at the pointy end of the MX2 field. Despite taking a mid pack start, Ward charged all the way to second position, providing his supporters with 2-2 results at round nine.

When racing concluded, Katsuya took second place for the round on the MX2 podium with 1-3 results, while Ward took an impressive third overall for round nine. Dunlop also experienced success in both the MXD and Rising Star Rookies classes, with GYTR Yamaha’s Wilson Todd taking 1-2 results to take the round overall, while YJR’s Hunter Lawrence remained undefeated at Echo Valley, also finishing the day on the top step of the podium.

Dunlop’s National Motorcycle Manager Sabastian Minicone shared his thoughts after the event.

“Congratulations to Kade and the CDR team for their dominant 1-1 results. This just proves the performance of the Geomax tyres and now puts Dunlop riders in a strong position for a 1,2,3 for the overall championship,” he said. “My congratulations also to Wilson Todd and Hunter Lawrence for winning their respective classes and to Takeshi Katsuya for his race win and final podium position.”
