KTM Australia will remain the title sponsors of the 2016 Australian Junior Motocross Championship (AJMX) when it is hosted in Renmark, South Australia, from 24 September-1 October 2016.

The event, which will be hosted by the Riverland Junior Motorcycle Club, will be KTM Australia’s fourth as major sponsor of the AJMX competition.

“KTM Australia is proud to once again be the naming rights sponsor for the 2016 Australian Junior Motocross Championship,” KTM Australia marketing and communications Manager Greg Chambers said. “The championships in the Riverland will be our fourth year as naming rights sponsor and it is one of the most important events of the year for us.

“Not only does this event provide a platform for the sport’s elite to compete for the all-important championships, it also gives the junior motocross community from around Australia an opportunity to get together in one place for a week of fun competition and socialising.”

Australia’s biggest motorcycling event in terms of participation numbers, the 2016 AJMX will be hosted by the Riverland Junior Motorcycle Club (RJMC). RJMC president Doug Spanos said the club had already undertaken upgrades to the track, irrigation and canteen facilities in preparation for its first national championship event.

“The Riverland Junior Motocross Club has been running for around 40 years and it has steadily grown,” Spanos said. “We’ve been hosting SA state titles for a few years now and we thought with the club growing and a great committee and great sponsors behind us that the time was right for us to put ourselves out there to host a national event.”
