Team Motul Suzuki press release:

Team Motul Suzuki’s Kale Makeham has secured another top ten overall result at the 8th round of the 2015 MX Nationals held at Nowra, NSW on Sunday the 2nd of August.

Makeham in his first year of MX1 competition did not get the day off to the best of starts when he crashed on the second lap of practice, landing on his shoulder and leaving himself in a little discomfort.

With the all-clear from racesafe, the 21 year old lined up for moto one aboard his RM-Z450 where he posted a solid 9th place result before backing up that effort later in the day with another 9th place finish in moto two for 9th overall for the round.

“I hit the ground pretty hard in practice and gave my shoulder and head a good knock, but was still able to post a qualifying and with some help from Racesafe was able to return to the track for both motos.” Makeham explained.

“That was my best result in the past four rounds, though It was still not up to my full potential. “It was certainly a step in the right direction and we will keep working hard in the lead up to the final couple of rounds and aim to end the motocross season on a positive note.”

Team Manager Jay Foreman was happy with the way Makeham continued to improve throughout the day after his early morning trouble.

“Kale was better in the second moto today and was able to stay closer to the leading pack which was reflected in his lap times, which was encouraging. “He just needs to keep working hard in the lead up to Toowoomba and continue to work on his speed and things will continue to move forward.” Foreman concluded. Makeham currently sits 10th in points with two rounds remaining in the 2015 MX1 Championship.
