Belgian Kevin Strijbos has re-signed with the Rockstar Energy Suzuki team for the 2016-2017 MXGP World Championships, remaining with the factory Geboers Racing Promotions operation.

A longtime Suzuki rider and twice runner-up in the world championship, 29-year-old Strijbos said it was a straightforward decision to remain on the RM-Z450.

“In the end it was not a hard decision to stay with the team and a group of people that I have grown up with,” he said. “The guys all work so well and so hard and know me and what I need. The bike is so competitive and I’ve been able to make it mine in the last couple of seasons. I’m settled and I’m happy. I’m looking forward to doing the best I can in the next two years.”

With his future now cemented, Strijbos will set his sights on this weekend’s Lommel round of the MXGP series, his home stop on the schedule.
