Form guide

The favourites:
Luke Styke (MX1) – The MX1 rookie already has one win under his belt at Broadford and we’re tipping him to grab another at his home round for KTM. Starts will be critical, but if he’s there or thereabouts then Styke can win.

Caleb Ward (MX2) – Five straight? There’s no reason right now to bet against it. Ward didn’t even win a moto on his way to the overall at Shepparton a fortnight ago, but his pace was strong and he’s now sitting on four overalls in a row.

The threats:
Kirk Gibbs (MX1) – As the red plate holder, Gibbs has proven the class of the field all year long and he says he’s not resting in search of this championship. With strong results at Nowra and Toowoomba, we could see him seal it with a round to spare.

Luke Clout (MX2) – That second moto win at round seven was a great reminder just how competitive Clout is, so with time running out he’ll want that red plate back, and this counts as a home round of sorts for him at least in terms of the state. This weekend will be important.

The darkhorses:
Kade Mosig (MX1) – Mosig will take a lot from his round win at Shepparton, coming at an integral point of the season as contract time emerges. Now third in the standings, he needs to keep it up in order to hold off fellow Victorian Adam Monea.

Jay Wilson (MX2) – Wilson was able to stretch his points lead by one last time out, giving him a six-point buffer over Clout entering Nowra. Whoever makes the least mistakes will win from here, so the NZ champion needs to remain composed – and keep winning races – to bring it home.
