Yamaha Racing will continue to take a ‘never say die’ attitude to round eight of the MX Nationals this weekend at the Nowra circuit in NSW. The 2015 season has proven to be a turbulent one for all three factory supported teams but despite the hiccups and setbacks, the riders and teams plan on coming out all guns blazing at Nowra.

CDR Yamaha – MX1
3rd Kade Mosig
6th Daniel Reardon
Team boss, Craig Dack, put his riders under the blow torch last round and both responded with some excellent racing. Kade Mosig claimed his second round win of the year and moved into third in the points chase while Daniel Reardon came within a few bike lengths of taking a moto win at Shepparton and Dack believes both of his riders are back on track and ready to make their mark on the championship.

“Last round saw the riders fighting for every lap of every race and as I told them in our team meeting after the event, that’s how I want them to race. We are representing a proud company in Yamaha and a successful team in CDR Yamaha and we have a culture here of success that we all want to continue.

“I was proud of the way they responded and think they both understand that is the bench of what their racing should look like.

“I expect more of the same this week in Nowra and with the new found confidence in the riders, I can feel a good weekend coming on for the team,” Dack states.

SERCO Yamaha- MX2
2nd Luke Clout
4th Jed Beaton
Just six points separates the top two in the MX2 division with Serco Yamaha’s Luke Clout shadowing championship leader Jay Wilson. The pair but on a riding clinic in the final moto at Shepparton and separated themselves from the pack and both acknowledge this championship is going to go down to the final turn of the final race at Coolum to determine a winner.

Clout is now fully recovered from his thumb injury that required surgery during the break in the championship and since the previous round, he has paired up with team mate Jed Beaton in Victoria to get some good training in and also contest a round of the Victorian Motocross Championships.

Beaton is also back to full strength after his collarbone injury and it out to get his season back on track. Beaton sits fourth in the championship in his rookie MX2 year but the 17 year old has the speed to match anyone and just needs to get through the first few laps without any mistakes to put himself in contention.

“The last two weeks have been good for the riders,” says team owner, Gavin Eales. “They have both been able to get a lot of riding in as well as a good hit out at Albury at the Victorian State champs where they won every moto between them and finished 1-2.

“They are both ready to go and our bikes are in great shape so we look forward to a good showing at Nowra,”Eales ends.

GYTR Yamaha – MXD
1st Wilson Todd
20th Mitch Evans
Wilson Todd is the points’ leader of the MXD category, holding a 10 point advantage of rival Connor Tierney. Todd had some issues at round seven that included a crash in each moto but he still managed to finish third for the round in what might shape as a championship defining effort.

Since the half way point of the series, Todd has picked up the pace and determined to make every post a winner but knows he will have to fight for it as the competition rallies behind him.

Mitch Evans returned from injury at round six and quickly made it onto the podium in third place. He stepped it up a little at round seven and made it to second place and now wants to continue that trend and step it up one more time at Nowra.

The 11 week layoff from injury looks to have done Evans’ speed no harm and despite this being his first year in MXD and learning new tracks, he has shown he is a fast learner.

“Both Mitch and Wilson have had to overcome injuries this year but having watched these guys ride since they were kids, I know neither of them will give up or mail it in. Both give it 100% every time they roll onto the track and as a team manager, that’s all you can ask for,” states Scott Bishop.
