Wilson MX looking to showcase form at round six

Stapleton and Wilson enter Raymond Terrace with added confidence.

Wilson MX Penrite Honda press release:

Wilson MX Penrite Honda will return to racing this weekend after a productive mid-season break, when the team heads to Raymond Terrace for round six of the MX Nationals.

Despite MX2 Honda teammates Geran Stapleton and Luke Wilson spending the five week break on opposite sides of the world, both will enter round six this weekend feeling refreshed, and more prepared than ever before.

For Stapleton the mid-season break was dedicated to furthering his on-the-bike training in America, and has returned to Australia looking to leave a lasting impression on the MX2 class over final five rounds of the MX Nationals.

“America was seriously the best thing I could have done for myself in terms of filling in the mid-season break,” he said.

“I spent a lot of money going there and putting in the extra time and effort to perfect my riding style, and find more speed, so I hope it pays off this weekend.

“Since I’ve gotten back, I’ve just continued training and we have the bike working very well, so we’re all looking forward to getting to Raymond Terrace.”

For Wilson, ramping up his training program at home over the last month has looked to have paid off, and says he’s excited to get back to racing this weekend to showcasing his new-found form.

“I’ve been wide open this past month. I’ve pretty much been up and back to Toowoomba every day training with Jacob Wright,” he said.

“He’s been pit boarding with me and honestly this is the best I’ve felt heading into a round – I’m feeling really confident.

“This year the break has been good. I felt a little underprepared heading into the season but the break has really allowed me to get in that extra training and has really gotten me to where I want to be. I just can’t wait for this weekend now.”
