The Raymond Terrace region is once again preparing for a huge weekend of racing as the MX Nationals makes the trek back to New South Wales for the sixth round of the series at MX Central.

With five rounds of this year’s championship already in the bag, the MX Nationals will recommence racing after the mid-season break this weekend and as usual will inject close to half a million dollars into the local economy over only two days.

MX Nationals series promoter Kevin Williams spoke of his excitement in heading back to familiar territory, and said that Raymond Terrace always dishes out quality racing, as well as plenty of spectators.

“We are very excited to be heading back to Raymond Terrace for round six this weekend – all of our championships are still anyone’s to be won, so racing is going to be action packed,” he said.

“The Raymond Terrace, Newcastle and Maitland areas have a huge dirt bike following, so it’s always great to see so many fans attending the MX Nationals when we visit, and we are anticipating good crowds this weekend.

“It’s very exciting to be able to support local economies through bringing our national championship to their regions. Hotels, pubs, shops and more will all benefit from the visit this weekend, that’s for sure.”

Williams also shared that with more than three race teams based out of the Newcastle area, round six of the championship will also mark a home round event for a number of MX Nationals teams.

“One great thing about heading back to Raymond Terrace, is that we have quite a few of our big teams based in the area, making this round quite special for them,” he continued.

“With the series being held all over Australia, a home round for our teams is always great, so I know that there will be plenty of local supporters of the teams heading out to cheer their guys on this weekend.

“Myself, and the whole MX Nationals crew is looking forward to getting back to the track after the mid-season break, and we couldn’t be happier to be kicking off the second half of the season at Raymond Terrace.”
