Review: 2015 Answer Evolve 2.0 Helmet

MotoOnline.com.au tests the 2015 Answer Evolve 2.0 Helmet.

Words: Guy Streeter

The 2015 Answer Evolve 2.0 helmet has been re-engineered with improved internal foam for better fit and all new comfort. The Evolve 2.0 is a mid-priced helmet made of injection-moulded polycarbonate, weighing in just over 1.4kgs.

The helmet meets and exceeds the Snell and DOT safety standards, with sculptured dual density EPS impact absorbing liner. The raised eye port ridge enhances protection by providing improved impact dispersion, absorbing forces from side and frontal impacts.

Answer’s Evolve 2.0 helmet features single point adjustable visor for quick and easy visor height changes and custom nose guard/chin vent design provides maximum roost protection and increased air flow.

Also, the sporting removable/washable and replaceable comfort-fit liner and cheek pads utilise quick-dry moisture-wicking fabrics. There are nine intake and exhaust vents to help keep the rider cool drawing air from the front of the helmet to the rear.

It’s is a mid-priced helmet you can get your head into for RRP $179.95, which is great value when you look around at what is available. The colorways are pretty sweet too, especially when matching in with the riding gear. Serco’s factory team has been sporting these helmets at the MX Nationals and they look real sharp.

Once you get the helmet on, the first thing you will notice is the snug fit. The helmet feels a little narrower around the front cheek area than most, but after a ride the helmet adapts and feels comfortable and secure.

The eyeport is wide and you have great peripheral vision. I tried on a few different brands of goggles and found the helmet is accommodating to slightly larger goggle frames, which is handy to know down the track if you want to wear some bigger goggles.

The single-point adjustment makes it really easy to adjust the height of the helmet visor. Adjusting the visor for late afternoons on a flat track where the sun is getting low or getting going after a crash, you can push the visor back up and secure it quickly without an issue.

The Evolve 2.0 is everything you need and more from a mid-priced helmet. The price point and value for money puts this at the pointy-end of the list. Further information can be found at www.serco.com.au.
