The first round of the KTM Australian Amateur Cup is set to kick-off in just under two weeks when the MX Nationals heads to Raymond Terrace for the sixth round of the 2015 series.

The Amateur Cup class will be open to seniors on all-powered bikes who haven’t finished inside the top 10 in the championship in the last five years and who haven’t had top 15 moto results in MX1 or MX2 in the past two years.

The KTM-supported three-round championship is set to provide amateur riders with the opportunity for their efforts to be recognised on a national stage.

“When the opportunity arose to support the Australian Amateur Cup, KTM Australia jumped at the chance,” KTM Australia marketing and communications manager Greg Chambers commented.

“It’s so important to support the grass roots level of motocross and give these guys as chance to showcase their skills on a national stage. I’m sure each and every rider will get a real buzz being able to compete on the same track, on the same day as the professionals.

“KTM Australia would like to wish all the competitors the best of luck and hope they enjoy the opportunity provided by Williams Event Management and KTM Australia.”

Riders who are unable to participate in the full 10 rounds of the MX Nationals series are encouraged to take part in this year’s KTM Australian Amateur Cup, with entries now open for round one.

With the first installment of the championship kicking off at Raymond Terrace, round two is locked in to be held at round seven at Shepparton, while the final round of the championship will be staged alongside round 10 of the MX Nationals at Coolum.
