Broc Grabham fires for Sherco in Queensland

Two top 10 finishes for Motul Pirelli Sherco Enduro team rider.

Sherco Australia press release:

Motul Pirelli Sherco Enduro team rider Broc Grabham shakes the top ten with solid rides at rounds 7 & 8 of the Australian Off-Road Championship.

Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2015 Australian Off-Road Championship were held in Aratula, Queensland over the weekend. Two separate single-day, time card enduro events was a welcome format change to the regular cross country and sprint events that have made up the Championship events to date. Riders completed eight special tests each day which were linked together with approximately 180km of trail riding.

Grabham started his weekend in strong form by posting solid results and completing the first day in 10th place outright and 6th in the E2 class aboard his Sherco 450SEF-R. Grabham bounced back on Sunday with vigour and clawed his way up the leader board with some excellent riding. At the completion of the day’s eight special test, Grabham was 8th overall and 5th in the E2 class.

Graham’s results were the highlight for Sherco over the weekend. Unfortunately good fortune dodged Powerhouse Motorcycles rider Jai Wedlock in the Under 19 class aboard his Sherco 300SEF-R in what was looking to be a strong weekend for the young racer.

With around one kilometre left to ride on Saturday and just before the final special test, Wedlock crashed on a downhill suffering injuries to his right hand. It’s not yet determined whether the hand is broken as Wedlock is returning from the Queensland event to visit his local doctor in Victoria.

“I was riding well and running around 3rd or 4th for the day but it all fell apart,” explained Wedlock. “I’m not even sure if it’s my hand or wrist. It’s all swollen and pretty sore but I’ll be right. I know I can come back in time for the next round.”

The Motul Pirelli Sherco Enduro Team be in action again July 4 at the Hattah Desert Race near Mildura in north west Victoria.
