CDR Yamaha’s Dan Reardon is considering a fulltime return to the US in 2016, the Queenslander has revealed while on a training trip to California during the MX Nationals mid-season break.

Reardon, 29, made a shock comeback to the sport this season following a full two years in retirement, almost instantly competitive in Australia’s premier MX1 category despite his lengthy layoff.

Although he has been hit with cruel luck through much of the season to date, Reardon won the second moto at Appin and finished third overall at Murray Bridge on board the factory-supported YZ450F.

Reardon is now hoping to return to American supercross and Pro Motocross in 2016 if the opportunity arises, confirming that he has already put the feelers out during his training excursion this month.

“When I originally booked this American trip it was just to improve myself for the latter half of the season [and] for next year,” Reardon told Transworld MX. “But over the last four weeks I’ve also thought about coming back here. And since I’ve been here now, I want to be back here – I really do.

“I’ve definitely put the feelers out to see what’s available for next year, but yeah, I will be racing and riding – it doesn’t matter where it is. We’ll see what comes from it, I’m having a ball and wherever it takes me, it takes me.”

Reardon first went to the US in 2008 after winning the Australian motocross and supercross titles the year prior, going on to spend three full seasons there with the GEICO Honda, MotoConcepts and Valli Yamaha outfits.
