X Games champion Jackson Strong confirmed to attempt the impossible at AUS-X Open in Sydney

Freestyle motocross sensation Jackson ‘Jacko’ Strong has been announced as the latest rider to join a star-studded line-up at the Australian Open of Supercross (AUS-X Open) at AllPhones Arena in Sydney on 28-29 November.

One of the only men on the planet to have landed a front-flip to dirt, the youngest ever to backflip a motorcycle at the age of 15 and a world record holder for longest distance backflipped at 128ft), Strong’s plan is simple – to pull off a stunt that has never been seen before.

“Competing against the world’s top riders in the FMX Best Trick International in front of my home crowd at the Allphones Arena is going to be a massive opportunity!” Strong stated.

Strong will form part of the FMX Best Trick International element of the AUS-X Open which, after its exit from the X Games in 2012, will certainly showcase the latest evolution in FMX tricks from the world’s best riders.

“It’s going to be sweet to compete for the best trick title again but with some of the biggest names in the world FMX scene all heading to Sydney, I’m going to give it everything I have and be on my A-game. To get a win on home soil would be pretty special.”

“I’ll be training hard for the AUS-X Open and come November, I want to show the Aussie fans something nobody has ever seen before. I’ve got a few things up my sleeve, but you’ll have to wait and see!”

Strong recently released his own documentary titled ‘Head Strong’, which incredibly ranked the number one most downloaded movie on iTunes Australia for over 48 hours and remained one of the top loaded documentaries for over two weeks.

Event director Adam Bailey of AME Management said Strong will add huge excitement around the arena with his death-defying FMX tricks and no fear attitude.

“Adding Strong to the line-up alongside the likes of James Stewart and Chad Reed is a huge boost for the AUS-X Open and Australia’s action sports fans,” said Bailey.

“Jacko is without a doubt one of the biggest talents in global FMX and is effectively the defending X Games gold medalist, so he will no doubt have plenty of fresh tricks in the bag come November 28-29 at the Allphones Arena in Sydney.

“As we edge closer to the inaugural AUS-X Open we look forward to presenting further big name announcements in the coming months.”

Following a complete sell out of the opening AUS-X Open event on 28 November, a second and final event has been added for 29 November at 2:30pm, featuring the exact same format and star-studded line up as the first.
