Team Motul Suzuki racers Matt Moss and Kale Makeham are eager to kick off the 2015 edition of the MX Nationals when the opening round heads to Horsham, Victoria this Sunday the 29th of March.

Two time reigning MX1 champion Matt Moss heads into round one excited about once again defending the red plate that he never once relinquished last season after winning the opening round in 2014.

While Moss would like nothing more than to leave Horsham with the red plate adorning his RM-Z450, he knows the importance of earning a solid points haul and setting himself up for the long season ahead.

“I am ready to go and excited for the season ahead,” Moss commented. “I am looking forward to getting out there and seeing where we are at. It will be good to finally get a grasp on where the competition is at and work out what we will need to do to win this championship.

“I have been doing everything I can to be ready and I feel ready, but ultimately we know that you can’t win the championship at the first round but you can certainly lose it.

“We will play it smart and do what we do best, stay consistent with the aim of heading to Coolum for the last round with the red plate. ” Moss added.

Rookie MX1 racer Kale Makeham enters his first national event in the big bike class with great enthusiasm and is ready to line up behind the gates in his home state of Victoria.

“I am really excited to get this weekend underway, probably more excited than I have ever been,” Makeham enthused. “It is an all new class and atmosphere for me.

“My preseason has all gone really well. The last two weeks all I have thought about is this weekends race, I already have my gear bag packed and I can’t wait to get there.

“I have a couple of personal goals this weekend, but nothing too intense. I want to get through these first couple of rounds and learn and build as the season progresses.”
