Williams Event Management (WEM) has announced that Pirelli will continue its longstanding support of the MX Nationals series in 2015, with confirmation that a full contingency program will be offered in the MXD class.

Pirelli is providing special pricing for tyres and a full contingency program valued at over $5000 for the Pirelli MXD class, with the class in action for the first time in 2015 at the opening round of the series being held in Horsham this weekend.

“We are excited about the upcoming season of the MX Nationals in Australia,” said Don Nicholas, Pirelli product manager. “The MXD class gives young riders an opportunity to race at national level and develop their racecraft for the future.

“Most riders in the MXD class rely on mum and dad to support their campaign, so with the Pirelli MXD Contingency program, we hope to assist riders who choose to race on Pirelli with the cost of tyres. It will also offer some rewards for season long efforts in the MXD class.”

Riders who register for the Pirelli MXD Contingency program can benefit from reduced pricing for Pirelli Scorpion MX tyres, as well as contingency awards for outright results at the end of the 2015 championship.

“It is wonderful not only to have Pirelli back on board supporting the series, but to see a company consistently support the MXD class of racing at this level,” said WEM’s Kevin Williams.

“The MXD class is where our future Australian and international champions are going to come from, so to help them out at this early stage of their journey is just fantastic.

“We have strongly supported this class as we recognise the pathway it provides our riders to get a taste of racing at the top level in Australia, and then decide how far they want to take it.

“So we are over the moon to team up with Pirelli again in MXD for 2015 and can’t wait to see the riders take to the track this weekend.”
