KTM announces partnership with GET EFI management systems

KTM Motocross Racing Team will use GET’s ECU system exclusively.

KTM Australia press release:

KTM Motocross Racing Team has formed an important technical partnership with the Italian EFI management systems brand, GET.

GET is the choice for some of the world’s highest profile motocross racing teams, including the KTM Red Bull Factory World Motocross Championship team, and KTM Red Bull Factory AMA SX/MX team.

In Australia, KTM Motocross Racing Team will use GET’s ECU system exclusively throughout the 2015 season, and expects that the relationship will yield significant results in terms of tuning efficiency, adaptability to conditions and data logging.

As part of the relationship, Team Mechanic Kyle Blunden completed training on the new hardware and software in Italy, and, having refined its mapping during the recent New Zealand championships, the team is ready to unleash the system in Australia.

KTM Motocross Racing Team Manager Rob Twyerould – “It’s an exciting technical partnership that will not only increase our immediate performance but help future-proof us electronically as the new 2016 models arrive with a greater number of sensors.

Information will flow in both directions as we give feedback from our experiences, and they give support technically. The system offers us some really cool features including the ability to data log, and it offers a really big advantage on dry, hard-packed tracks.

Kyle has been to the factory in Italy to train with them, and come back very inspired. Already we have run some tests on the dyno and it literally is bolt-on horsepower for the average person.

Bikes and Bits in Western Australia is the Australian distributor for them, and though the interface for us will be a laptop FireWire system, for the average punter, there is an iPhone app with which they can tune their bike within safe parameters, and do so wirelessly.
