Australian Supercross Championship contender Sam Martin will make a guest appearance at this weekend’s final round of the 2014/2015 German Supercross Championship in Dortmund.

Martin will ride for the Castrol Power 1 Suzuki outfit in Germany, coming off a popular podium finish at Brisbane’s Australian Supercross finale late last year.

“It was a last minute offer,” Martin explained. “I received a call literally days ago. I know the team has been quite successful and they seemed great, so I jumped at the offer.

“There’s three nights of racing at Dortmund and although I haven’t ridden any supecross since the New Zealand championships in November, I’ve been riding and training in preparation for the 2015 MX Nationals so my fitness will still be okay.

“I’m really looking forward to competing overseas. I know Gavin Faith is racing and apparently there’s some really fast French riders too. There’s plenty of prize money and a car up for grabs, so that should make for some interesting racing.”

The final round of the German Supercross Championships will be held this weekend on 9-11 January in Dortmund, Germany.
