Australian Off-Road Champion Toby Price took his first class victory in the International Six Day Enduro (ISDE), taking home the E3 title on his way to second Outright.

Price’s season scorecard has included Finke, Hattah, Desert Tri-Series, AORC championship wins and – just to highlight his versatility – a top eight finish in the recent final round of the World Rally Championship.

In one of the hardest ISDEs in recent years, Price finished second Outright behind Husqvarna’s Pela Renet, with Australia’s E3 World Champion Matt Phillips fourth Outright despite the lingering effects of a badly broken foot suffered during the EWC season.

“I’m stoked with my result, it’s my best finish of all the six days I’ve done,” Price said. “It was a long week of racing and coming up 45 seconds short of the Outright win is pretty good – I would love to win one now.

“It’s great to be a part of the team, but such a bummer we had guys drop out because we were in with a good chance of a win, but it’s just the way it is. We definitely had the best riders to do it, but the conditions were tough.

“There’s nothing like that ride home from the final moto, where we get to ride with everyone and got to light up the tyres a bit!”

All the Aussie KTM riders shone, with ISDE debutant Daniel ‘Chucky’ Sanders helping the Aussie Junior Team lead the world until the loss of one team member on day three, then was instrumental in elevating the team back onto the podium in the event’s closing stages.

In the Women’s category KTM’s Tayla Jones helped her team mates to successfully defend the world champions crown won last year in Italy.
