Full Throttle Sports will commit more than $50,000 to trackside medical services for RACESAFE and Emergency Ambulances in 2014, ensuring competitors contesting the Penrite Australian Supercross Championship receive the best onsite treatment possible.

The RACESAFE team is Australia’s largest specialised motorsport safety service and the only organisation providing a full range of racetrack emergency services including a highly-specialised and experienced team of trauma doctors, paramedics, nurses, physiotherapists and rescue personnel who donate their time and expertise for motorsport safety.

Event promoter Yarrive Konsky understands all too well the important role first response medical staff play, having broken 28 bones and undergoing 16 operations.

“Its tough, finding the funds to provide such diligent professional services,” Konsky said. “However this isn’t an area you cut costs in, even if budgets are tight in this economy. I feel a responsibility to have the best possible onsite medical support for racers and the RACESAFE team is Australia’s best.”

RACESAFE director of Emergency Services Simon Maas said his team is thrilled to be involved in the 2014 events.

“Supercross is one of the most exciting forms of motorcycle racing but it comes with both thrills and spills,” Maas said “RACESAFE have a highly specialised team that is experienced at responding to crashes and treating serious injuries that come from the high speeds and big jumps of supercross.

“These riders are serious athletes, racing at an international level and as such, their medical care must be of an international standard which RACESAFE provides. We are always trackside providing support and care to these extreme athletes to ensure that they can keep racing when possible.

“Everyone at RACESAFE is very excited to be an important element of the Australian Supercross Championship this weekend at Phillip Island.”

The RACESAFE team will be trackside for rounds three and four of the Penrite Australian Supercross Championship at the Tissot Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix this weekend.
