Penrite Honda Racing will field American Gavin Faith alongside experienced Victorian Lewis Woods in the 2014 Australian Supercross Championship (ASX), joining Jay Marmont in the new-look team when the series commences at Bathurst on 10 October.

Faith will return to Australia for a fourth consecutive SX2 (Lites) class campaign with the Yarrive Konsky-owned factory Honda team, finishing runner-up in 2011, winning the championship in 2012 and scoring second in 2013.

Meanwhile, Woods has become a surprise inclusion for the full season alongside Faith on a CRF250R in a continuation of Penrite Honda’s privateer outreach, which previously saw Daniel Banks and Riley Graham contest one-off rounds of the MX Nationals.

“Gavin has proven himself to be a consistent contender for the title and Woods has been in our plans since we began working with a selection of privateers midway through the nationals,” Konsky confirmed to MotoOnline.com.au this morning.

The confirmation of Faith and Woods officially ends Penrite Honda’s association with Josh Cachia, who exited the team midway through the Coolum MX Nationals finals following an altercation with Dylan Peterson prior to moto one. He’s since been linked to Craig Anderson’s Husqvarna Motocross Racing Team on board a FC 350 in SX1.

It was previously announced that Marmont will round out his professional career with Penrite Honda in ASX, becoming the team’s lone SX1 (Open) contender after finishing fourth last year behind Matt Moss, Jake Moss and American import Josh Hill.
