Off-road ace Daniel Milner has confirmed he will depart CDR Yamaha at the close of 2014 as speculation mounts he will compete in America next season.

Despite missing two rounds due to a broken ankle mid-season, Milner charged to second Outright and third in E2 in the Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) after winning the final round last Sunday.

While the current Australian Four-Day Enduro (A4DE) Champion’s future isn’t yet announced, Milner has announced that he will exit CDR Yamaha in 2015 – likely to take the first steps in a poised international career.

“I have some plans for next year that will be announced soon, but I have had two years with the best team in Australia at CDR Yamaha,” Milner said.

“They have played a massive part in my success for the last couple of years and best of all, I have made friends for life here. Craig and everyone on the team are great to work for and ride with and it’s been my pleasure to represent them.”

CDR Yamaha team owner Craig Dack also confirmed Milner’s departure at the close of the AORC season, now turning his attention to 2015 after a grueling season that included the team contesting the Enduro-X Nationals, AORC, A4DE and MX Nationals.

With Chris Hollis’ re-signing all but completed, it’s anticipated Dack will draft in a youthful teammate to take the position of Milner next season.

“Daniel is leaving CDR Yamaha with our full support and he will be making his announcement in due course,” Dack commented. “We have had a great couple of years together and he is departing with our blessing.

“You could say, and I am happy to confirm this, that Hollis’ signing is imminent and we will be confirming his teammate after that. Both in off-road and motocross I would say that there is a changing of the guard taking place at the moment with some really bright young riders coming through.”

CDR Yamaha has already confirmed 19-year-old Jacob Wright for its motocross program in 2015 upon the retirement of Jay Marmont and anticipated exit of Billy Mackenzie.
