NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jake Moss will enter Sunday’s GoPro Super Pole session as the fastest following a heated final qualifying session at Coolum this afternoon.

Moss was the form rider on a brutal Coolum track, where the title will be decided tomorrow over three 20-minute motos in the final round of the season.

A blistering 1m47.983 was Moss’ benchmark, bettering CDR Yamaha rider Billy Mackenzie’s 1m48.598, while series leader and defending champion Matt Moss (Team Motul Suzuki) was third with a 1m48.659.

Teenage sensation Jacob Wright (CDR Yamaha) once again impressed in fourth as the final rider in the 48s, while KTM Motocross Racing Team’s Kirk Gibbs was fifth to secure a Super Pole birth in his title bid.

A strong list of riders completed the top 10, with Adam Monea (NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki) sixth, ahead of former world champion Ben Townley (Penrite Honda), Sam Martin (DPH Motorsport Yamaha), Lawson Bopping (SIC Racing Kawasaki) and Brock Winston (Husqvarna).

Another young gun Jesse Dobson (KTM) was 11th, from retiring four-time champion Jay Marmont (CDR Yamaha) in his final qualifying appearance.

Another storyline on Saturday was Kade Mosig, the DPH Motorsport Yamaha rider 14th after a major crash during the session. He will be back on track come Sunday,
