GYTR Yamaha’s MXD red plate holder Jed Beaton has been forced out of the final two Monster Energy MX Nationals rounds with a broken leg, according to series organisers.

It’s a crushing blow for the Under 19s rookie, crashing in regional Victoria this week while training for the championship-deciding final rounds of the season.

Beaton burst onto the scene in the MXD class this year and was carrying an eight-point lead on Egan Mastin heading into round nine this weekend. He will now miss out on the final two rounds of the MX Nationals and will narrowly miss out on securing a 2014 title.

The injury of Beaton places Husqvarna’s Mastin in the box seat for the title, ahead of Nathan Crawford by 15 points and a further five in front of KTM-mounted Jack Simpson.
