Penrite Oils and Honda are giving fans a once in a life time opportunity to ride their factory race motocross bikes on 14 September.

Frankston Motorcycle Park will host the inaugural Penrite Honda Ride Day event, where the team will be in full attendance with their race transporter, bikes, merchandise and displays.

“I grew up wondering what a factory bike would be like to ride and I asked the team if they would be willing to make some dreams come through for our customers,” explained Penrite Oil general manager Toby Dymond.

“To be eligible riders will need to purchase $75 of Penrite product on the day. Whether its team merchandise, oils or promotional products, it doesn’t matter. The team is suggesting riders get in early as spots will fill fast.”

Each rider will get five laps on board either the Penrite Honda Racing CRF450R or CRF250R as fielded by injured Kiwi Cody Cooper and Josh Cachia.

“The motocross championship will have finished and we will be in the transition of changing everything over for supercross,” said team manager Mike Landman. “It’s awesome that Penrite and Honda are giving people this once in a life time opportunity, hopefully it’s something that can become an annual occurrence.

“Our bikes are built locally and have proven to be capable of winning and now local riders will see that their Hondas can be built just the same.”

Riders will be required to sign in, pay their riding fees and will need to have a Motorcycling Australia license and/or be able to show previous racing/riding experience.

Th event will also mark the public unveiling of Penrite Honda’s SX1 rider, yet to be confirmed by the Victorian-based team.
