Team Motul Suzuki’s Rhys Carter has been sidelined with a broken wrist in the lead-up to this weekend’s Raymond Terrace round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals.

Carter is back at home in New Zealand recovering from a broken right wrist sustained in a club race last weekend. He underwent surgery on Tuesday and will unfortunately be sidelined for the season remainder.

“I snapped my wrist in four places and have undergone surgery, so it’s really disappointing,” Carter commented. “It’s a matter of letting my body recover now, because I raced most of the year with a back injury so now’s a good opportunity to rest that as well.

“It was a good year for me though, I felt like I was pretty strong and I felt like I had more to come, for sure. It’s pretty gutting not to be able to show everything I have in these final three rounds.”

Prior to his injury, MX1 rookie Carter sits ninth in the standings with multiple top 10 overall results to his credit.
