Entries now open for 2014 Australian Supercross Championship

Categories, prize money and return of indoor event confirmed.

Motorcycling Australia (MA) has released the supplementary regulations for the 2014 Australian Supercross Championship

Supplementary regulations available for direct download here or from the Supp Regs page of the MA website. Entries must be submitted online and can be completed here.

Entries are open now and close midnight on the following dates:
Rounds 1-2 – Entries close 12 September 2014
Rounds 3-4 – Entries close 19 September 2014
Round 5 – Entries close 8 October 2014

It’s been confirmed that the categories will feature new names in 2014, under the SX1 (Pro Open), SX2 (Pro Lites) and SXD (Under 19s) – in line with the motocross model used in the MX Nationals. A Women’s SX2 championship class will also be featured.

Support categories during the series will include SX1 Intermediate and Clubman, SX2 Intermediate and Clubman (each separated into New South Wales, Victorian and Brisbane Supercross Cups), Junior Lites 13 to under 16 years (all rounds).

Prize money at $24,000 across the five rounds – payable by MA within 21 days of each event according to documentation – will be awarded as follows per round:
SX1
1st $600
2nd $400
3rd $300
4th $250
5th $150
6th-10th $100 each

SX2
1st $500
2nd $400
3rd $300
4th $250
5th $150
6th-10th $100 each

SXD
1st $300
2nd $200
3rd $100

The series will kick off in Bathurst on 10-11 October then move to Phillip Island and run in conjunction with the Australian MotoGP on 17-19 October and conclude at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 8 November.
