A fundraising dinner has been announced by Monster Energy MX Nationals organisers Williams Event Management (WEM) to assist injured MXD competitor Blake Colleton, who sustained paralysis at the Wonthaggi round of the 2014 series.

Colleton is in a wheelchair following the incident and on a long road to recovery, with the MX Nationals fundraising dinner to take place ahead of the Raymond Terrace round on Saturday, 2 August, at the Raymond Terrace Bowling Club.

The menu is a smorgasbord variety, designed to cater for riders who will be competing in the following day’s eighth round of the championship. The cost is $25.00 with 50 percent of each meal going directly to Blake to assist with his recovery.

As well as the dinner, the event will include a number of auction items, interviews and plenty of fun and laughs. Those wishing to help are encouraged to come along to the dinner, show their support, and bring the motocross community together to help a rider in need.

Should you wish to attend, please email [email protected] with the number of tickets you require by Tuesday, 29 July.

Additional details on Colleton’s injury including an update from his mother Karen is available on the official MX Nationals website.

A number of auctions are also currently taking place via the ‘Raising money for Blake #31’ Facebook Page, including rare Dean Ferris memorabilia and more.
